Canaan IoT

A lot of factors go into an espresso tasting good: water quality, beans, grind level, tamper, and a recipe to tie everything together. Canaan IoT started with the goal of providing analytics based on real-time measurements to help baristas and coffee shops make great espresso, consistently.

As Head of Product:

Recruited and led a team of 8 engineers, defining the product roadmap after conducting research with over 20 baristas and selecting the core technology stack (ATmega, MQTT, Node.js, Python, InfluxDB).

Directed the hardware roadmap from initial R&D across 6 prototypes to the production of custom PCBs, defining the high-level architecture and managing the fabrication and supply chain process for over 8 design iterations.

Following my departure for studies abroad, the team continued to build on the product's early successes. They have since expanded the company's reach, and Canaan IoT is now deployed in over 60 coffee shops across 7 countries.
